Envisioned Futures Project
The Besease Junior High School in the Ashanti region of Ghana is fundraising to build a technology center. Currently, students are learning Information Communication Technology instruction from a blackboard. Students need access to internet and computers as well as desks and chairs. Our goal is to raise awareness of this need through art and the funding to build a technology center.

Arts and Civic Engagement
Students have created art surrounding building envisioned and sustainable futures. They have created portraits visualizing their future selves. They have also created model proposals for creative solutions that respond to areas of need within their community. They were asked-How can one Envision their Future through connecting their Past and Present? How can one integrate a vision for the future through the use of sustainable materials and art and design? In addition to voicing the need for necessary changes, students presented their work and ideas in dialogue with community stakeholders.

Cross Cultural Connections
The Envisioned Futures Project fosters cross cultural connections. The project has previously engaged Bard High School Early College students in Manhattan, NYC in an exchange with students in Ghana. There will be an additional exchange happening with NYC students this spring of 2026. The project has approached its mission through shared collective actions and coming together across the diaspora through cross cultural dialogue and art exchange.
